about
my Photography story
I am a gal of all hobbies from reading books to writing my own. Growing up I’ve always loved film & photography. It was a big way I expressed myself. But when I’m not behind a camera or in a DARKROOM, I’m probably taking care of my cats. I also foster too! My purpose in life is taking care of animals and I have a strong connection with them. Some would say I’m a certified cat whisperer. Photography is A way I fuel my creativity. helping animals is how i unwind.
Starting my business
I began delving into darkroom photography in 2015 & have loved it ever since. I originally shot in 35mm film on my Canon ae-1. I studied it in my undergraduate taking multiple independent studies in darkroom & digital photography. I have won awards for my portraits and had multiple showcases in galleries. my favorite thing about darkroom is how it slows me down in a good way. Makes me hone my craft and sharpen my skills so I can take beautiful portraits. there are limitations to how many photographs that you can take, especially with tintypes you only get one shot! I also love that darkroom shows the beauty of being human. There is no perfect shot, perfect pose, or a way to photoshop. I love to show people what I see and more about who they are through a different perspective.
Who I am
I started my photography business ‘Bree Diesburg Photography’ in 2026. I offer digital and darkroom services. I love doing portraits, events, weddings, festivals, grad photos… and especially creative projects like vintage styled portraits with a set design. most portraits and tintypes i do at my IN-HOME studio based in Central Illinois.

I've been shooting since 2015, starting on my Canon AE-1 and studying darkroom and digital photography through independent studies in undergrad. Since then, my work has been recognized with awards and gallery showcases.
What sets me apart isn't the format, it's how I see. Years of darkroom work taught me to slow down, to work within limits instead of around them, and to find the beauty in an unposed, unfiltered moment. I bring that same eye to every session, whether it's a hand-poured tintype or a digital shoot. No perfect pose, no photoshopping away what makes you human. I'm not chasing a flawless image. I'm showing you what I see, and helping you see yourself a little differently.

If you have a vision board, a mood, or even just a vibe you can't quite put into words, send it my way. I love turning inspiration into real, tangible photos, and I'm especially drawn to capturing what makes you, you. Whether your style is bold, soft, whimsical, or something entirely your own, my goal is to bring it to life through the lens, not force you into a box.
